DYNAC

The DYNAC Implementation Project is a National Traffic Management System for NZTA, replacing the previous platform, ‘Odyssey’.

Resolve Group has been involved since the project’s inception in January 2009: Martin Leak was appointed tender evaluator, and was involved in the pre-letting tender negotiations; Resolve Group was subsequently appointed Engineer to the Contract; and more recently Steve Griffith was directly appointed by NZTA as the Project Manager for Phase 3.

Phase 3 builds on the core software developed for the Control Centres in Wellington (Phase 1) and Auckland (Phase 2). It consists of a range of enhanced functionality including the roll-out of the GIS viewer, and integration of urban and regional electronic road signs into DYNAC.

On Saturday 9th June, Phase 3 successfully went live. Project Manager Steve Griffith said, “There were a range of technical and logistical challenges to overcome, but thanks to some tireless work from the project team, we now have an integrated system that has taken control of NZTA’s electronic road signs around New Zealand. We are now a step closer towards having a truly integrated approach to active traffic and incident management.”
