Te Horo KilnsHuge congratulations from Resolve Group to everyone who worked on Te Horo Kilns Station Building Restoration and Site Works, which was just declared a winner for a careful strategy that has given the original Te Horo train station a new lease of life, preserving its delightful scale and original architectural features.

The station now sits among an important collection of historic buildings and structures that form Te Horo Kilns and preserves the legacy of Mirek Smíšek, one of New Zealand’s best-known pottery artists. The award recognises Te Horo as a good example of collaboration by all stakeholders on a complex project. With shared intent, the result preserves a slice of history and provides an events space and art studios.

In his role as project manager for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s Peka Peka to Ōtaki Expressway, Technical Director, Jamie McDuff directed activities around the relocation and restoration of Te Horo Station and the Smíšek Kilns site.
