Resolve are working with Transit NZ and its Asset management team on producing a long-term plan addressing all maintenance and operational activities for the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

The scenes in New Orleans last year brought the reality of emergency planning right into our living rooms.

Rob Lorden, immediate past Chairman of the Auckland Engineering Lifelines Group, and senior consultant engineer at Resolve, has recently produced a Lifelines Plan for transportation networks for Waitakere City Council. It is one of the first of its kind in New Zealand and maintaining a roading network during an emergency is vital. “Emergency services need roads”, says Rob, “And to evacuate you need roads to drive on”.

Resolve are also reviewing lifelines studies and emergency planning documents for other councils and Transit New Zealand.
