The Challenge:

Auckland Transport required a temporary busway scheme to provide more reliable bus journeys, with improved connections both locally and into the city centre, that worked with the current interchange but allowed for future upgrades.

The Outcome:

An interim scheme that provides for a new busway on motorway shoulder lanes between Westgate and Nelson Street on SH16 will leave the motorway to stop at interchanges at Te Atatu, Lincoln Rd and Westgate to access bus stops on local roads before re-joining the motorway.

Our Involvement:

Resolve led the multi-organisation safety audit team during concept design and prepared the safety audit report. An addendum report was also prepared by Resolve following an update to the interim concept design.
