Kathleen Munson

Kathleen joined Resolve Group in 2018, shortly after moving from the United States to New Zealand. A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the US, she brought with her more than 10 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in bridge design, inspection, and forensic assessment.

Since then, her role has broadened to include procurement, project management, risk management and mitigation, and providing engineering expertise in insurance claim processes. She says what she enjoys most is the variety of work and the opportunity to contribute to projects that make a tangible difference to communities.

Kathleen values the collaborative culture at Resolve and the chance to work alongside colleagues and clients who share her commitment to problem-solving and delivering meaningful outcomes. Known for her adaptability, communication skills, and ability to build trusted relationships, she is regarded as a steady and reliable presence on projects, no matter how complex.

Kathleen offers her clients:

  • A strong technical foundation in structural engineering and infrastructure delivery.
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach to project management and risk planning.
  • Experience navigating procurement and insurance processes with clarity and precision.
  • The ability to foster collaboration and keep teams aligned toward shared goals.

Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys combining her love of travel with her pursuit of triathlon, which has included completing an Ironman. Training and racing around the world gives her the chance to experience new places from a unique perspective, and she values the balance it brings to both her professional and personal life. She is also a devoted fan of her New York sports teams, supporting the NY Jets and the NY Mets whenever she can.
