To assist the Auckland Motorway Alliance (AMA) to set the scope for future motorway improvement projects, including preparation for incident responses, Resolve Group is using FREEVAL (FREeway EVALuation) modelling software.

By analysing current congestion on the southern motorway from Central Motorway Junction to Highbrook Drive, we can test various future scenarios for the Newmarket Viaduct replacement project and the planned fourth lane to Greenlane.

This US software is designed to analyse a motorway facility of up to 70 highway capacity manual segments and for up to 24 fifteen minute time intervals. To ensure consistency between demand variability and facility travel time, it is best used with a total facility length that does not exceed 15-20 km.

FREEVAL uses spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, which makes it easy to manipulate, saving valuable time and money.
