In October, Resolve Group’s Managing Director, Martin Leak, was invited to speak at the 19th Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress, in Vienna. Discussion centred around how vital the deployment of ITS is for improved efficiency, safety, sustainability, mobility and environmental performance. With resources continuing to be limited, the central issues under discussion were how to link investment and performance, and how to define the mechanisms that connect the two.

Other speakers included Mr Kirk Steudle, President, AASHTO & Director, Michigan DOT (USA); Mrs Linda Watson, President and CEO, Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, (USA); Mr Kyong Soo Chon, Professor, Seoul National University (Korea); Mr Cees de Wijs, Group President, International Transportation and Government, Xerox (The Netherlands); and Mr Fotis Karamitsos, Acting Deputy Director General, European Commission, DG MOVE. The panel was chaired by Mr Peter Sweatman, Director, University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute – UMTRI (USA).

Stronger ties between Intelligent Transport Systems & Services (ITS) New Zealand and its UK counterpart were firmed up at the ITS World Congress in London late last year.

Representing New Zealand, Martin Leak, Director of Resolve Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ITS UK to increase linkages between the two countries. This MoU aims to foster further cooperation between NZ and UK companies and organisations.
