The AMA engaged Resolve Group, Beca and Opus to provide resources to undertake the inspections of all of the safety barrier assets on the Auckland motorway network.
Auckland’s motorway network is 220km long with an estimated 440km of concrete, steel “armco” type, and wire rope safety barriers.
The inspections involved two main tasks – the collection of inventory data to populate the RAMM database for future asset management purposes, and the provision of a condition rating for the asset to allow the AMA to prepare a forward works programme to address any defects or deficiencies found. Such a comprehensive inspection had never been carried out before and the project.
Resolve provided some of the inspection resources and conducted management in collaboration with the AMA.
