The Challenge:
To widen and improve SH20B, between SH20 and Auckland International Airport. Improvements were needed to provide travel choice and reliability for people and freight around the south and east of Auckland, including to and from the airport. This work was part of the Southwest Gateway programme, aiming to provide better public transport and walking and cycling facilities.
The Outcome:
SH20B improvements included a wider carriageway, new combined bus/T3 lanes, new and upgraded services, shared walking and cycling facilities, better lighting and new intersections to allow for safer more efficient access to the airport and adjacent properties for everyone.
Our Involvement:
Resolve was appointed Engineer to the Contract. Our role was to provide full oversight of the contract to ensure the successful implementation of the improvements.
