The Challenge:

Auckland Transport required a temporary busway scheme to provide more reliable bus journeys, with improved connections both locally and into the city centre, that worked with the current interchange but allowed for future upgrades.

The Outcome:

A scheme was devised to provide an interim busway on motorway shoulder lanes between Westgate and Nelson Street on SH16. It leaves the motorway at Te Atatu, Lincoln Road and Westgate to access bus stops on local roads before re-joining the motorway.

Our Involvement:

Resolve Group led the multi-organisation safety audit team during concept design and prepared the safety audit report. We also prepared an addendum report following an update to the interim concept design.
