“My love of figures and challenges led me to a career in accounting – it was not my plan on leaving school; nature conservation was where I thought I was going! – but some great guidance from a mentor steered me to a career in accounting and I haven’t looked back.”

Andrew worked in the United Kingdom and South Africa Prior to his move to New Zealand in 2015, and his previous accounting experience extends across tourism, IT start-ups, insurance, auditing, accounting, banking and health. He now proudly adds engineering to his list.

Overseeing the full accounting function at Resolve Group since 2018, Andrew’s work includes day-to-day processes, IRD tax submissions and payments, accounts payable and, perhaps most importantly, the accounts receivable processes, which Andrew says are always interesting, occasionally challenging and thoroughly enjoyable.

Andrew’s skills and experience include:

• Strong all-round accounting knowledge gained over 25 years.
• A solid understanding of payroll and human resources.
• Greentree Enterprise Resource Planning software.
• Xero Online.
• MS Office, including excellent Excel skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Andrew enjoys watching most sports and especially loves lives, live-action football, rugby and cricket. Having moved to NZ in 2015, He is on a mission to see as much of his adopted homeland as he can before travelling further afield again and enjoys combining his passions for photography and the great outdoors by tramping and taking pictures along the way. A recent favourite trip was to the Mackenzie Country where he walked the Hooker Valley trail at Mount Cook.
