The Glen Innes to Tāmaki Drive Shared Path is designed to improve links to local communities and public transport for the eastern suburbs. The path will complete a missing link in Auckland’s cycle network and connect with cycle routes to Point England, the shared path along Tāmaki Drive, and the Tāmaki Drive Cycle Route.

As a continuation of our long-standing relationship with Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Resolve Group has been awarded the role of undertaking the Management, Surveillance and Quality Assurance (MSQA) for Section 2 of this project. This section, which links St Heliers Bay Road in the east with the Orakei Basin Shared Path in the West, will be the next link in ensuring that healthy and sustainable transport options continue to be developed across the Auckland Region. The project involves two concrete bridge structures; one of which crosses Auckland’s Eastern railway line, and a timber boardwalk of approximately 650 metres in length, which passes through a scenic reserve.

The Resolve Group team will be working with Contract Landscapes Limited, who will be constructing this project over the next 18 months to two years. “Due to the complexity of some of the structures on the project,” says Steve Griffith, Service Line Leader for the Delivery Team, “Resolve Group will also be obtaining specialist input from its subconsultants, who designed the structures.”

Based on the current programme, this section of the Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path is due to open to the public mid to late September 2022.
